How we can help

We understand that the people we look after work long hours and often to very tight deadlines. If you encounter technical difficulties outside of our usual on-site support hours we know that this can be both frustrating and stressful.

To help you, we provide an out of hours emergency number for you to call for assistance. Before you call for help with a technical problem we would ask you to read the following notes.

How you can help

Having a vital Word document that you have been slaving over simply vanish from your screen is guaranteed cause a great deal of stress. Before you call us for assistance we would ask that you:

1. Be realistic
   Think about whether or not the problem can wait until the following day when we can provide you with our full support.
2. Carefully note down any error messages shown
   Using the camera facility on your mobile phones makes this easier and will help resolve your problem more quickly.
3. DIY?
   Don't - not yet - before diving in and attempting to fix the problem yourself take a few moments to think about what you were doing and what to do next. There are a wide variety of resources online to help you and if you have any doubts get in touch.
4. Be patient
   When talking you through a problem or working on it remotely we will proceed cautiously. As a result this make take longer to resolve.
5. Assume the worst
   We will do our best to help you but we recommend you assume the worst and plan accordingly.

When you call

The out of hours assistance is intended to help try an resolve an urgent matter however please bear in mind:

1. Your call may not be answered immediately
   We will endevaour to return your call within 1 hour.
2. If your call isn't answered
   Please make sure you leave a message including your name, the time you are calling, a contact number and a brief description of the problem.
3. Send an SMS message
   It is possible the person on duty cannot take the telephone call. An SMS message with your name and number would help greatly.
